Song of Hope

Welcome to Song of Hope. featuring a new album by Los Angeles native, tenor saxman Kamasi Washington.  "Harmony of Difference" is a six part suite composed as part of a project by the Whitney Museum of American Art which includes a film by A. G. Rojas and artwork by Kamasi's sister, Amani Washington.  Each of the six selections corresponds with the titles of Amani's paintings.  As Washington says, "My hope is that witnessing the beautiful harmony created by merging different musical melodies will help people realize the beauty in our own differences."  To see Amani Washington's six paintings go to my Facebook page, "Peter Prentice"and click on the most recent post on  my timeline.
