As we reach the final episode of Mnookmi, your host Caitlin Terrell expands on past discussions with Tegan, Anang Binesi, and Kaliyah and emphasizes the place that artists have in dismantling the colonial project through our position in academia as Indigenous people. We reflect the current state we are in on Turtle Island and the benefits of arts creation as exemplified by each of the guest’s artistic practices. How creation and community building can be seeds towards decoloniality and diverting from the settler systems we find ourselves in everyday. We conclude with open ends and futurities as we wrap up with an extended song list.
