We are sad to report that after a battle with throat cancer, the long-time host of Rad Radio, Jon Aaron aka Jonny Bones, passed away this past August. Jonny launched Rad Radio over 15 years ago, drawing on his deep community connections to showcase the best in local Punk and Ska, only stepping down from creating new episodes of the show in April 2025, on account of his health.

To celebrate and memorialize Jonny, his friends, bandmates and collaborators (under the name of Jonny Bones Forever) recently recorded and released To My Bones, a compilation album paying tribute to our dearly departed friend - have a listen while you remember Jonny. Rest in Peace!

We will continue to re-air past episodes of Rad Radio until the end of the year, which will also be available to listen to in perpetuity via the CJSF archives (at cjsf.ca/contents/rad-radio.)
