Mnookmi ep 6: Reclamation Rumination with Tegan pt. 2
(Content warning for residential school trauma and sexual assault)

This week, we continue our discussion from last week with Blackfoot/Metis/British poet, author, and playwright Tegan Smallwood or otherwise known as Tegan Wintermoon. We look into the differentiation between revenge and reclamation as it involves both the story's main character as well as Smallwood themself as the young writer at the time. Smallwood and I then look back at the writing process as we dive into the second half of an audio production of Smallwood’s TCTE Short Fiction Contest award winning short story Passion of Christ.

Mnookmi ep 4: Body Connectivity with Kaliyah pt. 2

This week, we continue our conversation with Kaliyah on navigating modern academia as it works within art spaces and decolonial reformation, in specific to Kaliyah’s positionality as a dancer as well as a researcher and student. We ponder our own place in that conversation and find how we can be heard while still honouring one’s own wellness. We conclude with showcasing our collaboration on Kaliyah’s journal entry and position statement.

Mnookmi ep 3: Body Connectivity with Kaliyah pt. 1
This week, I connected with fellow SFU School for Contemporary Arts student, Kaliyah! I talk about the intersection between her discipline of contemporary dance and body/mind connectivity. We touch on her research on land/body relationality as it relates to her piece All My Relations which was performed at the Ascension 2025 dance show at the SCA! In this part, we begin to connect body and mind with the land through Kaliyah’s positionality as a dancer, laying a foundation for our next part as we begin to discuss decoloniality in academic and art institutions.
