FemCon, or content by female artists, is a way for us to radio to highlight the incredible women making art around the world, but also to highlight the ongoing bias towards airing male made music & arts. Tune in to International Women's Day this coming Tuesday March 8 with special editions of your favourite programs all day from 8am and special programming and guests from 12-3pm!

8am: Vancouver Tits Tape Rebecca Visser, local artist and radio producer, takes over the Vancouver Mix Tape with all femcon all hour long! Check out last year's show too!

9am: Toast n (Int'l Women's) Jams Madeline Schmidt, international intern extraordinaire, returns to Burnaby and brings her fave songs from Europe and Canada.

10am: A Music Dork Minute - Super Sized Femcon Edition [Terra Informa preepmpted]
Music Director Kiara Shibley hosts an extended version of her weekly highlight of the best and newest at CJSF. This week, we hear her fave female releases of the past year.

11am: Democracy Now! Amy Goodman and your weekly dose of independent US and Global News.

Public Affairs Super Special! 12-3pm Special Programming from the Women's Collective through 3pm including:

12pm: West End Sex Worker Memories Becky Ross & Jamie Lee Hamilton talk on memorializing sex workers who were kicked out of West End.  by Laura Scheck.

3pm: Golbang Host Mozhgan Sohrabi presents music and interviews from Persian women.

4pm: She's Got Bev Davies' Eyes (A Spoken Word Surprise) A short, off the cuff interview with legendary rock photographer Bev Davies at Record Store Day 2015, plus a healthy dose of punk music. by Maegan Thomas and Madeline Taylor. 

4:30pm: Cited A radio antennae on the Ivy Tower, this week's episode highlights Princeton philosopher Sarah-Jane Leslie and her research on cultural barriers facing women entering certain academic disciplines, particularly STEM fields (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math). 

5pm: Downliner's Crypt An IWD version of your weekly dose of garage/punk, surf and rockabilly 45s by the bands that never made it. The unknown (female) masters of rock 'n' roll!

7pm: Sound Therapy Radio Host Lauren McNeil speaks to women who do what are often consider "men's jobs" like plumbing.

8pm: Melodies in Mind Melissa Lee returns as host to local artists live in studio, including Vicky Sjohall, Karen Fowlie, Tanya Gallagher. Regular host Alina Koval will be working the Women's International Film Fest March 8-12, hear an interview on Community Forum March 10 4pm.

10pm: Rockin' Blues Show An All Women Soul Singer Extravaganza hosted by Brent Morrison.
