Burrard Inlet Fish Fest

by Sarshar Hosseinnia

J Peachy, a self-identified fish warrior for the salmon and contemporary outsider artist, was present at the 2nd Annual SFU Indigenous Day  promoting Burrard Inlet Fish Festival, which takes place at Port Moody’s  Rocky Point Park Sept 25-27, 2015

Peachy hopes the event will be an expression of cross-cultural sharing of experience and knowledge in an attempt to connect people, through the presence of art and water.

As an advocate for mental health, Peachy is Vancouver Caucus leader for the Artist Alliance for Mental Health. His method of painting the energy, peace and serenity in natural surroundings is seen as a way of healing. “I’m like a Mike Holmes of art,” he says. “I can fix things in art, through the expression creativity and resurgence and rebuilding and mash-up the best of the old world with the new world.”

J Peachy will be an active participant at the Burrard Inlet Fish Festival, which takes place at Port Moody’s Rocky Point September 25-27. https://bifishfest.wordpress.com/

His abstract artwork was most recently on show at the  Gallery Bistro http://jpeachygallery.com/2015/09/03/indigenousandfish/
